PetroChina’s First LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port Successfully Receives First Cargo

24 May 2011 – PetroChina’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal, the LNG terminal at Yangkou Port of Jiangsu has received its first cargo. This implies the LNG terminal which is the first receiving terminal in Jiangsu and fourth coastal receiving terminal in China will start operation soon.

A Q-flex LNG carrier, carrying 145,000 cubic metres or around 63,800 tonnes of super-chilled gas from Qatar, has sailed into Yangkou Port today. The first shipment of LNG will berth for around 12 days for trial run of pre-cooling system and production.

The LNG terminal commenced construction in 2008, has an annual receiving capacity of 3.5 million tonnes of LNG. It is able to berth shipments from 80,000 to 267,000 tonnes.
