21 March 2011 – PYI supports “Earth Hour 2011”, and will turn off all the non-essential lights and appliances in office at 8:30pm on 26 March (Saturday). The message is disseminated via email to all staff, who are encouraged to join this meaningful activity together with their families and friends.

In 2010, WWF’s global event “Earth Hour” was supported by 128 countries. More than a billion of people turned off the lights for an hour as a show of commitment to living a low-carbon lifestyle. Hong Kong had over 2.5 million people, over 2,500 buildings and companies, 230 schools and youth groups, and all universities participating in Earth Hour.
